Week 6: Move More, Feel Great

Welcome to week 6 of the #8fitChallenge! Last week, you were challenged to read ingredient lists to identify which “healthy foods” were actually “unhealthy.” This week, let’s continue building healthy habits by incorporating more movement into your daily routine.

Sitting is just as bad as smoking

Have you heard the news? Sitting is the new smoking. Sitting is symptomatic of modern society — we sit to drive, we sit on the train, we sit at our desks, we sit when we eat. The result is we don’t move enough, though our bodies are meant to move regularly.

Your challenge this week is to incorporate additional movement into your daily life. You can do this by taking the stairs instead of the elevator, riding your bike to work, getting off public transit a stop early, or walking around the room every time you drink water.
