In her My Milo & Me blog, modern metropolitan mom and social media maven, Susie Verrill regularly shares the ins and outs of being a busy mom of two baby boys as well as her love for fashion and travel. Though she shares nearly every aspect of her life online, exercise and nutrition rarely take center stage because, despite being slim and married to a British Olympic athlete, Susie doesn’t spend a lot of time focused on fine-tuning her healthy habits.

Looking for a post-pregnancy workout to tone-up, get fit and keep up with her two young ones, Susie gave the 8fit app a try.

Mom and baby workout

Like most parents to babies and young children, Susie found squeezing in time to exercise regularly quite the challenge post pregnancy. On top of that, her previous experience with other fitness and nutrition apps left her feeling restricted food wise and well, a little hangry.

Using the 8fit app, she was not only able to integrate her baby into many of the workouts, but the short HIIT sessions enabled her to sneak in a quick workout during the precious time to herself while the kids napped. Susie absolutely adored the in-app exercise videos as they were simple and easy to follow.

Nutritious meals made easy

Most moms will know the struggle of eating a regular and balanced diet while juggling the demands being a parent. For want of time and energy, Susie often found herself eating her kid’s leftovers or reaching for easy to cook, carb-heavy comfort foods like pasta.

What appealed to her the most about 8fit was that the customized recipes saved her a ton of time by providing her with healthy and quick to prepare meals like the ingredients for this smashed chickpea and avocado sandwich. The grocery lists also came in handy, educating her on which supermarket aisles and foods to avoid, as well as what basic foods to stock up on.

It’s all about moderation

“8fit is good in the sense that it says, ‘Everything in moderation, don’t give yourself a hard time, this is what you could be eating which would benefit you, and here are some suggestions.’ But it’s not hammering home that you have to be really strict with your diet or exercise, everything’s manageable.”

Susie has never been someone to deny herself life’s tasty treats and doesn’t believe that you should feel guilty for eating what you crave; so she found 8fit’s “a little of what you like does you good” approach refreshing and motivating.

The quick, effective and convenient workouts became part of her daily routine rather than taking over her whole life, which is especially important for moms — new or seasoned — who don’t have all the time in the world and can workout from the comfort of their own four walls.
