Tabata Workout

Tabata is a form of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) that features four rounds of 20 seconds of intense work, followed by 10 seconds of rest. Here is an example: Perform 20 seconds of high-knees, then rest for 10 seconds. Repeat four times. These intervals of rest are crucial to bring your heart rate down, allowing you to push it right back up when the rest period is over. This extra challenge sets your body into fat-burning mode, and you continue to burn calories at rest long after the workout is over - for up to 48 hours, in fact!

Every workout in your customized 8fit plan are rooted in the HIIT style, whether it be Tabata, timed intervals or working out for max reps. A typical Tabata workout, especially those in our app, include two or more Tabatas strung together for a total workout time of eight or more minutes.
