8fitter Spotlight: Tom’s 8fit Success Story and Commitment to Health
We’d like to introduce you to Tom, a very dedicated 8fitter. Tom joined 8fit as a 12-week challenge participant over a year ago. During those 12 weeks, Tom lost an impressive 22 pounds and 13 inches. He continues to exercise and prepare meals using the 8fit app, working closely with 8fit's Coaches.
We’re not saying Tom’s journey was always smooth sailing. After finishing the 8fit challenge, Tom stuck with his workouts and meal plans for a few months, but then life got crazy (as it often does!). He took some time away from 8fit as he focused his attention on personal matters, but then, after realizing that working out and eating well through 8fit was a primary driver of his health and happiness, he returned to the program with renewed dedication.
“Tom’s attitude towards taking on new challenges and overcoming problems is inspirational,” explains his 8fit Coach “Not only did he lose an impressive amount of weight, but he improved his health and he continues to be a constant source of positivity and inspiration for others. It’s always a pleasure hearing from and working with Tom. His transformation proves that no matter your situation, if you want something, and if you work for it, you can have it.”
In this 8fitter Spotlight, Tom shares what he likes about the 8fit app, his favorite motivational quote, and wise words for people just getting started on their health and fitness journey. Read his 8fit success story below.
Tom’s Dedication to Health and Happiness
You cook a lot of 8fit meals and your photos look great! Which is your favorite?
My favorite meal is the 8fit Chicken Fajitas, closely followed by this awesome porridge recipe taken from the 8fit app.
8fit members often experience improvements in energy, strength, confidence, mental clarity and more. For you, what is the biggest benefit of 8fit?
The confidence building.
We all have our challenges outside of trying to lose weight, get fit or gain muscles. How has 8fit helped you overcome different challenges in your life?
The challenges I’ve overcome have been, in part, due to the weight loss and renewed self esteem.
Do you have a favourite motivational quote or phrase?
“Nothing to it until you do it!”
What would you tell someone who is nervous to start 8fit?
What I would tell someone who’s nervous is: Just start. It’s okay if you can’t do all of the exercises — go at your own pace but push yourself. Remember, “Progress, not perfection.”
When you first started, what motivated you to stick with the app? And, after taking a break to deal with personal issues, what motivated you to come back?
When I first started I was motivated because it was difficult to breathe and walk. I didn’t want to be that person anymore. I came back because I missed connecting with the 8fit coaching staff.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience with 8fit?
The last thing I would like to share with newcomers is that there will be days that you won’t want to exercise, there will be days that you won’t want to meet your walking goals, and there will be days when you just want junk food. Walk anyways and stick to your meals. There’s plenty of time to go back to your old life, but you might only have one chance to make this change. So, get up, suit up and show up. Look in the mirror everyday and tell yourself that you can do this and you deserve the new you.
