My fitness philosophy
Don’t go to extremes or take yourself too seriously. Find a balance between enjoying life while pushing yourself.
I’ve been interested in nutrition for a long time. It started when I was a child growing up on a farm. I learned the connection between the food on my plate, the food in the supermarket, and how the food is actually produced.
While I was studying, I was working full time for a doctor who specialized in metabolism and nutrition. I met lots of patients with interesting stories and learned that every person is an individual and every body works differently. We are surrounded by such a huge variety of nutrition tips and diets that it’s easy to get lost and to lose hope in any advice. Many clients I meet have tried so many diets that their metabolism has collapsed. They gain weight too easily. I like to help them see light at the end of the tunnel and find a nutrition plan that works for them.
I became a nutrition coach because I find it fascinating to see what a food consists of and how the body uses it. There are so many nutrition myths and products flying around, but still, diseases and obesity increase. I want to help people understand what is essential. I want to learn more about how everyone’s body works individually and how everyone requires different nutrition. Nutrition is my passion and so are the people who I give guidance to in the overwhelming jungle of food.
What fitness and nutrition mean for me
Both are incorporated in my daily life and give me a lot of energy. Fitness, especially nutrition, is not only my job, it’s my passion and my hobby. Luckily, all my friends share similar views. We mostly see each other while doing sports or cooking together. Both fitness and nutrition help me enjoy and appreciate life.
